Anyone who has swept a Victoria Beckham makeup brush across their skin or tried her new Colour Wash Blush Water Tint is sure of one thing: This woman knows how to chase perfection. Her latest launch and first foundation, the Victoria Beckham Beauty By Augustins Bader Foundation Drops, is no exception.

“The Foundation Drops have been years in the making!” Beckham says. “I wanted to create a foundation that is truly best in class, something that really cares for the skin while providing beautiful coverage. And I wasn’t willing to rush or compromise. I’m so proud of it and feel like the perfect time to share it.”

Continuing her dedication to skincare meets makeup hybrids, she partnered with Augustinus Bader on The Foundation Drops. “We’ve had a partnership for over six years now,” Beckham says. “I was a huge fan of his Rich Cream as I truly saw the benefits to my skin when I used it regularly and admired his thirty years of research into his patented technology TFC8. Our mutual friend Melanie Grant introduced us, and then I think I stalked him! I knew if I wanted to create skincare products, I wanted to collaborate with the best, and offer his incredible skincare benefits, mixed with our makeup expertise.”

The Foundation Drops contain Augustinus Bader’s proprietary TFC8. Thirty years of regenerative medicine research was funneled into it to support the skin’s natural renewal process and maximize essential nutrients. That’s what enables The Foundation Drops to be so beneficial to the skin.

“The Foundation Drops were designed to provide both instant complexion perfection and cumulative, clinically proven skin benefits,” Bader says. “Immediately, they even tone, diffuse imperfections and deliver a natural, luminous finish. With continued use, clinical trials demonstrated improvements in hydration, elasticity and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Over time, skin appears smoother, firmer and more radiant.”

There are more skin-loving ingredients beyond TFC8 in The Foundation Drops. “We incorporated echinacea purpurea to help firm and contour, spilanthes acmella to smooth and refine texture, and olive leaf extract to rejuvenate and strengthen the skin barrier,” Bader says. “Each of these actives was selected not only for its individual efficacy but for its ability to work synergistically with TFC8, delivering both immediate and long-term improvements in skin health and appearance.”

But bottling that up wasn’t easy. “The greatest challenge in developing The Foundation Drops was formulating with TFC8, Trigger Factor Complex TFC, in a pigmented base, which required us to rethink traditional approaches to both skincare and makeup,” Bader says. “TFC8 is a highly sophisticated technology that works best in direct contact with the skin, guiding key nutrients to support its natural processes of repair and renewal. In a makeup context, the question became how to preserve this full efficacy while also introducing color. This led us to work with the Victoria Beckham Beauty team to engineer an entirely new system—a breathable, weightless base we call the ‘Breathable Matrix of Suspended Pigments.’

“It allows pigments to diffuse seamlessly while ensuring that the actives remain unobstructed and fully effective. Rather than masking the skin, the pigments are held within a lightweight, serum-like base that allows them to diffuse evenly, creating a real-skin effect. This matrix ensures that the formula moves with the skin, delivering seamless coverage while leaving TFC8 and other actives unobstructed to perform effectively. The result is a formula that balances performance and permeability in a way not typically seen in makeup, delivering both immediate coverage and long-term skin benefits.”

That’s why it took so long to develop the foundation. Beckham had wanted to add one to the mix from the very beginning when she began her beauty brand nearly six years ago. “When we first started Victoria Beckham Beauty, I wanted to launch with a foundation but we had so many things to get exactly right, and we didn’t want to launch this until it was truly possible to achieve them all,” she says. “So, over the years, we would quietly work on it to give it the time it needed.”

Nailing the perfect formula was worth the wait. “We wanted a foundation for any skin type that benefits anyone who wants true skincare results while wearing their complexion makeup,” Beckham says. “It also covers redness, hyperpigmentation and unevenness, which was important to me. Creating an inclusive shade range for every type of product we launch is imperative to our development process, and we’ve created these light textured complexion formulas that are highly adaptable and allow for a really intentional shade range too.”

To ensure everyone can find their ideal shade match, it comes in 19 shades. “Inclusivity was fundamental to the development process,” Bader says. “We drew from the success of The Concealer Pen, expanding learnings to create 19 shades that are flexible and highly adaptable. The product development teams worked closely with top makeup artists to capture the nuances of undertones, ensuring the shades stretch across multiple skin tones within each family.”

To ace application, Beckham usually lightly dots it around her face for a fresh daytime look. “I tend to use our new foundation brush to blend it, focusing on areas like my jawline, forehead and around my nose. I almost paint it onto my skin, building it up where I need more coverage. That’s how I personally like to use it. Some people prefer using their fingers, which works too, but the brush gives me the extra precision and control I love.”

For her full base routine, she starts with the Cell Rejuvenating Illuminator to give her skin a little extra glow. Then she applies The Foundation Drops and after that, The Concealer Pen in areas she wants more coverage. “I like to round out my complexion routine with our Matte Bronzing Brick, finishing off with a bit of Colour Wash in the shade Flushed to add that perfect slightly sunkissed look,” she says.

The rest of her daily makeup routine entails filling in her brows with BabyBlade Brow Pencil and FeatherFix Liquid Brow Gel, in Crystal Clear, to keep them groomed and stay in place all day. She then applies the Satin Kajal Liners, normally in Cinnamon or Cocoa, along the lash line and smudge for a wearable smokey eye. For lips she uses Lip Definer in 02 to line and on the lips as a base color, and finishes with Posh Balm for a barely-there tinted sheen on the lips.

Another non-negotiable for Beckham for The Foundation Drops was lightweight coverage. “I really believe that you should add coverage only where you need it,” she says. “This is a light coverage foundation, but it’s also really buildable, meaning I can take it to medium coverage if I want to and where I need to. It has a really natural finish but still gives enough coverage that your skin feels supported and you can feel confident wearing it. I feel very strongly that foundation doesn’t need to be heavy to give you a flawless look. The Foundation Drops give a polished, even finish that I’m always looking for.”
