A significant treaty has been ratified in the great PlayStation and Xbox war. After Xbox has shoveled many formerly exclusive games to PlayStation, now, PlayStation has returned the favor, launching its most (only?) successful live service game, Helldivers 2, on the platform.
The game has not just launched on Xbox, it has arrived with what is arguably the coolest Warbond the game has ever gotten, a crossover with Halo ODST. Helldivers 2 has avoided crossovers but the alien-killing, pod-dropping ODST soldiers 100% fit in with the vibe of the game, and as such, no one is complaining about this. The Warbond is available to all players on all platforms, not just the new ones on Xbox.
The cost is steep, higher than other Warbonds as this is a “Legendary” Warbond. It’s 2,100 Super Credits and does not work with Premium Warbond Tokens. That’s a $20 purchase in the $40 game. Still, I think many are going to deem this worth it.
It’s a long list of Halo-based items that are able to be grabbed from the pass. So, here we go:

- Helmet – A-35 Recon – 45 medals
- Cape – Eye of the Clandestine – 25 medals
- Title – Rookie – 20 medals
- Weapon – M90A Shotgun – 65 medals
- Vehicle Pattern – Mean Green Vehicle – 55 medals
- Weapon – MFC/SOCOM Pistol – 75 medals
- Exosuit Pattern – Mean Green Exosuit – 50 medals
So, is it worth it? There are two angles to this, one is if you’re a Halo fan or just think all this looks extremely cool, and the answer would be yes. The second is if you want to get good stuff to play Helldivers 2 itself and…the answer also appears to be yes with weapons like the shotgun doing huge damage in the game.
There have been some long sighs from Halo fans that there are still essentially zero updates on new Halo content since the launch of Halo Infinite in 2020 and the cancellation of additional story content for that game. Supposedly something new is in the works, but with no date, no information and no previews. Great.
So, we live vicariously through things like Fortnite and Helldivers 2 crossovers. And this? This is a really good one. Pick it up.
